President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, on Monday said that United States President Donald Trump was the only person who could end the Iran war.
In his opening remarks at an energy conference in Cairo, el-Sisi called Trump a “lover of peace” as he pleaded with him to stop the war.

“I speak to you on behalf of myself, humanity, and lovers of peace — and you, Mr. President, are a lover of peace. Please, Mr. President, help us stop this war. And you are capable of doing so,” the Egyptian leader said.
Egypt, along with Pakistan and Turkey, is among the regional powers trying to broker a peace deal between the US and Iran.
Earlier on Sunday, Foreign Ministers Badr Abdelatty of Egypt, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, Ishaq Dar of Pakistan and Hakan Fidan of Turkey met in Islamabad to discuss ways to end the Iran war.
The talks focused on proposals to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key shipping route that has been effectively blocked by Iran, triggering a global energy crisis.
They floated proposals on reopening the Strait of Hormuz amid surging global oil and gas prices and continued fighting between Iran and the United States.
Proposals, including from Egypt, had been forwarded to the White House by the countries before the meeting.
Trump has again warned Iran that the United States military will completely blow up all of the country’s power plants, oil wells, and Kharg Island if a deal is not reached shortly.
Trump said that the United States is engaged in serious discussions with what he called “A NEW, AND MORE REASONABLE, REGIME” to end the military operations in Iran.
He claimed “great progress” has been made, but warned that if the deal is not reached soon enough and the Strait of Hormuz is not immediately opened for shipping, the US will conclude its “lovely stay” in Iran by completely obliterating all of Iran’s energy infrastructure.
